Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2 July 2026

Laravel Magazine ("we", "us", or "the site") is an independent digital publication operated as part of PHP Architect. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you visit laravelmagazine.com, how we use it, the cookies we set, and the choices you have. We have written it to reflect what the site actually does — nothing more.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Newsletter: if you subscribe, we store the email address you provide.
  • Job board: if you post a job, we store the listing details and contact information you submit, and payments are processed by Stripe (we do not store your card details). If you apply to a listing, we store the application details you submit.
  • Accounts: for the small number of existing staff/author accounts, we store a name, email address, a hashed password, and — where enabled — two-factor authentication and passkey data. Public account registration is currently closed.

Information collected automatically

We run our own lightweight, first-party analytics so we can understand how much traffic the site receives. For each page view we record the page path, the referring site's domain, a coarse approximate location (country and region), and a general device type (for example, desktop, mobile, or tablet). The approximate location is derived on our own server from your IP address using a local MaxMind GeoLite2 database; your raw IP address is not stored in our analytics records and is not sent to any third party for this lookup. Raw page-view records are automatically deleted after 90 days; only aggregated daily totals are kept longer.

We also use Google Analytics, a third-party service provided by Google, which sets its own cookies and may process usage data (including your IP address) on Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

How we use your information

  • To operate, maintain, and secure the site.
  • To understand overall traffic and improve our content.
  • To send the newsletter to subscribers.
  • To publish and manage job board listings and process their payments.

Service providers

We share limited data with the following processors only as needed to provide the site:

  • Google Analytics — usage measurement.
  • Stripe — payment processing for job board listings.
  • Resend — delivery of newsletter and transactional email.
  • Amazon Web Services (S3) — file and image storage.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

  • Newsletter: every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
  • Google Analytics: you can opt out using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: to be transparent, the site does not currently change its behavior in response to browser "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
